چکیده
This article shows investigations of partial discharge (PD) in a high voltage cable system using different voltage shapes. The two sources which were used for energizing the cable system, are 50 Hz alternating current (AC) generated by a high voltage transformer and damped alternating current (DAC). Both systems can be used for PD detection with use of a standard PD measurement circuit existing of coupling capacitor and coupling device with digital signal processing. The both test circuits are described and can be used for energizing the cable to a voltage over 110 kV (greater than 1.7 U0 for the cable used in this investigation). The cable system which is used for the investigations in this work is a 200 meter long high voltage cable with two joints. PD defects can be attached to both joints and the far end termination by using an artificial PD source. PD level for defects are compared for AC and DAC. The phase relation of PD for both methods is shown. Moreover comparison of partial discharge inception voltage (PDIV) for both energizing methods is described and measurements are shown.

Background: Pre-op anxiety has adverse effects on the patientchr('39')s anesthesia and treatment. Currently, electrical interventions are widely used as non-invasive methods to control pre-op anxiety and may have advantages as compared with medical therapies. This study aimed to determine the effect of transcranial alternating current stimulation on anxiety and hemodynamic response of patients ...
متن کاملAsymmetric Rectangular Waveform in Stimulation with High Frequency Alternating Current Reduces the Threshold for Neural Conduction Block
Introduction Abnormal neural impulses in the nervous system may lead to various diseases and disabilities. High frequency alternating currents (HFAC) has been used to block the propagation of such impulses and improve the symptoms or disabilities. The technique is safe, reversible, and relatively selective, and its reliability, the optimum stimulation parameters, and elimination of the onset re...

متن کاملImprovement of Power System Condition by Placement of Flexible Alternating Current Transmission Systems devices
Flexible Alternating Current Transmission Systems (FACTS) devices have been used for several targets in power system, one of the main contributions of the devices is improving operation conditions. In this paper, two types of these devices have been placed to raise voltage profile, minimizing system loss and arising loadability. The suggested FACTS devices are: Unified Power Flow Controller (UP...
